Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Crystallography or related field, with at least 5 years’ hand-on experience as an experimental crystallographer in a tertiary institute/industrial sector. They should have in-depth knowledge and extensive experience in the practical aspects of small-molecule and powder crystallography, including crystallization, data acquisition, structure solution and refinement. They should also have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in PC and software applications; good communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; sound supervisory skills; be self-motivated, and able to work independently. Hands-on experience in handling air-sensitive crystals is an absolute advantage.
The appointee will be responsible for providing structure determination service for research samples while supporting student-run data collections and structure determinations. He/She will provide assistance for the development of crystallographic research methodology, train research students and authorized users for data collection and analysis; and perform any other duties as assigned.
