Clinic Assistant (at the rank of Technical Officer/Senior Technical Assistant) in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 532200) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
HKU Health System encompasses a diverse network of outpatient clinics and specialised centres managed by HKUMed, alongside a collaboration of five public and private teaching hospitals. The HKUHS Clinical Centre is an established medical clinic that primarily supports clinical teaching and research activities and serves as an enabling platform to deliver a growing range of primary and specialist care initiatives.
We are seeking a Clinic Assistant experienced in the operation of medical clinic services to join our team.
Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma, or 5 passes in HKCEE including English, Chinese and Mathematics, or minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with 5 years’ relevant work experience in clinics and healthcare institutes are preferred. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment at the rank of Senior Technical Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform reception duties, including appointment bookings, registration, referral for specialist consultation and associated general clerical work.
- Handle patients’ & visitors’ enquiries, including feedback and complaints.
- Provide clinical support to medical and nursing teams, including vital sign measurement, performing ECG, venepuncture, and respirator fit test, etc.
- Assist with doctor consultation, minor procedures and arrange follow-up bookings, hospital admission, imaging, report follow up and payment collection.
- Consultation room set up, including ensuring appropriate supply of materials for service provision.
- Handle and process laboratory specimens.
- Prepare, clean, sterilize and conduct routine inspection of surgical instruments and accessories.
Preferred Attributes / Exposure
- Knowledge of private health care services delivery in Hong Kong.
- Holder of Venepuncture & Blood Taking Certificate is an advantage
- Mature, self-motivated, a good team player with a strong sense of responsibility and positive attitude.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese, as well as an appropriate level of IT skills (especially in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are essential.
- Capacity to work in a dynamic team and multidisciplinary environment.
- Able to work independently with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good at interacting with people with customer service skills.
Occasional performance of duties outside normal office hours may be required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.
