Post-doctoral Fellows in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 532216)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Project Manager of a major research grant on estimated time of arrivals (ETA) of buses in Hong Kong
  • Multi-sourced data fusion, spatiotemporal analysis, manpower and project timeline management, and effective communications with team leaders and public transit operators
  • Must be able to use different programming languages and conduct big data analytics
  • Must be efficient, responsible, patient and meticulous in the delivery of tasks

 

Requirements

  • A PhD’s degree in transport, computer science or related disciplines or a Master’s degree with three years of project management experience
  • Experience working with multiple teams outside of university setting will be an advantage
  • Familiar with different programming languages (e.g. Python) and preferably Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

What We OfferThe appointment will be expected to commence on 1 July 2025 on a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
