Senior Executive Assistant (Global Engagement) (at the rank of Clerk I) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 532218)
The Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Hong Kong is committed to excellence in education, research and community engagement. We are seeking a results-driven individual who embraces growth and challenges to support the Global Engagement team in expanding the Faculty’s international footprint and promoting international exchange.
The Role
The primary job responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
• Support in planning, organising and executing events and activities with international impact, including study tours for delegations from overseas institutions as well as research events and conferences;
• Contribute to international marketing and communication efforts, including content creation and digital marketing;
• Coordinate with faculty, staff and external partners (university, corporate, public sector) to ensure the smooth execution of the above initiatives;
• Provide administrative support for various projects and initiatives;
• Perform other duties as assigned by directors and supervisors; and
• Be prepared to occasionally travel abroad, work outside of office hours and on weekends as needed;
• Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test/presentation and an interview.
Qualifications and Qualities
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration or a related field;
• Remarkable track record with at least 2 years of full-time work experience, preferably in events management, communications, marketing or a related field;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Chinese;
• Ability to work independently while demonstrating a proactive approach;
• A can-do mindset with the capability to learn quickly, embrace challenges, and solve problems while complying with administrative guidelines;
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently overseas;
• Candidates with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Clerk II.
What We Offer:
The appointment will be made on a two-year fixed-term contract, to commence as soon as possible with a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basis salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
