Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Ref No.: 532248)

 

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (to commence in September for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

Applicants should have a bachelor's or master's degree in biological or medical sciences, or a related discipline. An interest in human genomics and/or clinically oriented translational research is essential. Prior experience with molecular techniques, cell culture, or data analysis will be an advantage. Applicants should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, eager to learn, responsible, able to work both independently and in a team, fluent in written and spoken English, and possess strong communication skills.

The appointee will conduct laboratory work and contribute to multi-omics research projects under the supervision of Dr. Brian Chung. This role offers exceptional opportunities to develop expertise in next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics analysis, and integrative omics approaches.

Successful candidates will build a strong foundation in essential genomics research skills while contributing to high-impact studies, with prospects to co-author publications and present findings at international conferences. The position fosters career advancement through mentorship in experimental design, data interpretation, and translational applications of omics discoveries.
