Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 532273), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidate may be considered for appointment on tenure terms.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, Virology, or related disciplines and demonstrate a strong track record in virological research. They should have attained international recognition for their scholarly achievements and professional expertise. In addition, they should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, curriculum development, capacity building, and the mentoring of early-career researchers. Experience in supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students is essential. Preference will be given to applicants with a demonstrated record of administrative leadership in academic or healthcare institutions.
The appointee is expected to take up a key role in achieving the highest standards of teaching and research within the Department; fostering academic collaboration within and outside the Faculty/University; as well as contributing to the strategic development and future direction of the Department.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
