Applications are invited for the appointment as Senior Programme Officer/ Programme Officer (at the rank of Research Assistant I/II) at the Centre for Quantitative History (CQH) of the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 532311) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
About the Centre for Quantitative History (CQH)
The Centre for Quantitative History (CQH) is a focal institution studying economic, financial, and social history in a quantitative fashion, hosted at the HKU Business School in collaboration with the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Centre was founded as an Area of Excellence designated and funded by the Research Grants Council of the University Grants Committee of Hong Kong. The Role
The appointees will provide a full spectrum of administrative and executive support at the Centre level, including the following areas:
- administration of projects, including managing event calendars and updating centre webpages;
- event management, including coordinating international and regional academic conferences, symposia, seminars, outreach workshops, and knowledge exchange events; and
- administrative support for financial and research-related matters, including liaising with Principal Investigators and researchers, managing finances, and creating publicity content to promote research activities.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess:
- a good Bachelor’s degree, preferably with at least 1 year of relevant work experience;
- proficiency in English and Putonghua;
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- high proficiency in Microsoft Office and common design tools;
- excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise urgent tasks;
- ability to work diligently, efficiently and meticulously without close supervision and under pressure; and
- a good team player who can collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders of the University.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview. Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Programme Officer.
