Senior Executive Assistant/Executive Assistant to the Dean (at the rank of Clerk I/II) in the Faculty of Arts (Ref.: 532342) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of proven experience assisting and supporting senior leadership, event planning and project management in the higher education sector or a related field. The successful incumbent will have excellent oral and written communication skills, including drafting executive-level correspondence, and demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Applications. He/She should be highly collegial, self-motivated, and be proficient in managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines. Candidates with less experience will be considered for appointments as Clerk II (with the functional title of Executive Assistant).
The appointee will provide high level oversight and management necessary to carry out the day-to-day administrative activities required to accomplish the work of the Dean. The incumbent will act in strict confidence and discretion when handling all of the Dean's matters and those of the entire Faculty. They will demonstrate the ability to interact diplomatically with a very broad range of academic and senior staff from across the university and members of the external public. Occasional work outside regular office hours may be required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
