Senior Facilities Assistant in the Safety Office (Ref.: 532363) (To commence in August 2025, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE/ HKDSEE/ equivalent or combination of specialized training, education and experience. They should also have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; good communication and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work independently in a variety of settings. Knowledge of chemistry and experience in the use of a variety of software tools would be an advantage.
The appointee will have two distinct areas of responsibility which will involve a roughly even allocation of time. The first area will be to support the operations of the chemical safety team in administering the purchase and distribution of chemicals, management of dangerous goods stores, maintaining entries in a dangerous goods inventory and arrangement for the collection of chemical and clinical waste. The second area will be to develop an automated system for creating aggregate risk summary reports for Faculties and Departments. The data source will be the output of an existing research proposal risk survey tool developed in Qualtrics.
