Applications are invited for appointment as Postdoctoral Fellows in Astrophysics in the Department of Physics, The University of Hong Kong (Ref.: 532416), to commence as soon as possible for 24 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and funding availability. Up to four positions are possible if suitable candidates can be identified.
The candidate is expected to have a PhD degree in astrophysics or related principles and will work with Prof. Bing Zhang to conduct research in astrophysics. Recent works of Prof. Zhang can be found at https://www.physics.unlv.edu/~bzhang/. Candidates with research experience and a strong publication record in the directions of multi-messenger astrophysics, fast radio bursts, gamma-ray bursts, and other branches of high-energy astrophysics are preferred. Both theorists and observers are welcome to apply. Applicants who are in the process of completing a Ph.D. degree will also be considered. The starting time is flexible, ranging from immediately to the beginning of the fall semester in 2026. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
