Senior Research Assistant/ Research Assistant I/II in Community Child Health in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Ref.: 532419) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
The appointee(s) will work with a team of researchers on projects related to big data, large-scale population-based longitudinal studies, and electronic medical records-based cohort studies, particularly in the areas of special educational needs and mental health. The appointee(s) will conduct statistical data analysis and interpretation, prepare scientific publications, grant proposals and reports, prepare and manage IRB applications, provide general administrative and operational support, and perform other duties as assigned.
Applicants should possess: (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Statistics, Biostatistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Economics, Data Science, or related disciplines, with a strong quantitative background; (ii) experience and proficiency in statistical data analysis using R, STATA, SAS or other statistical packages; (iii) excellent written and oral communication skills; (iv) strong problem-solving, organisational and administrative abilities; and (v) attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in big data manipulation, longitudinal analyses, and a track record of publications would be an advantage. On-the-job training will be provided.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
