Teaching Assistant in the Division of Applied Oral Science and Community Dental Care of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 532496)

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the Division of Applied Oral Science and Community Dental Care of the Faculty of Dentistry to support a Common Core course.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist course teachers in course preparation, administration, and other academic activities;
  • Grade and provide feedback on assignments and tests;
  • Invigilate examinations;
  • Provide consultative support to students outside class hours; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Course Coordinator.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, with at least one year of experience in teaching HKU Common Core courses;
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English; and
  • Experience in teaching and research in dentistry is preferred.

What We Offer

The appointment will commence in January 2026 or as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
