Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Experimental Phonetics in the School of English (Ref.: 532565), to commence as soon as possible for a period of two years. This appointment is under the University Research Committee’s Post-doctoral Fellow Scheme. The appointee is expected to contribute to the research project “Justice in China: Showing the way with forensic voice comparison” and develop their own project(s) in experimental phonetics.

 

Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. degree in relevant fields (acoustic phonetics, digital signal processing, computer science) by the time of appointment, and preferably previous background or formal training in forensic speech science. The successful candidate should also possess native or near-native fluency in English.  Information about the School can be obtained at http://english.hku.hk. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
