Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Project Coordinator) in the Department of Sociology (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance).

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Early Childhood Education, Social Sciences, or related disciplines. They should have excellent communication skills and be highly proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese. Native proficiency in Cantonese is a must, and fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage. They should be highly responsible, detail-oriented, proactive, capable of managing multiple tasks effectively, and be able to work effectively independently as well as in a team. Preference will be given to those with prior experience in research project coordination, data collection, and/or working in/with kindergartens in Hong Kong. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant II.

The appointee will be primarily responsible for assisting with the implementation of a large-scale early childhood development research project in Hong Kong. Key responsibilities include liaising with participants and participating schools, coordinating data collection, coordinating and supporting the implementation of an intervention programme, and data entry. He/she will also perform daily administrative duties (e.g., paperwork, procurement, etc.), monitoring and providing guidance to part-time research assistants, assist in preparing publicity materials and reports, event organization, and performing other tasks as assigned. The position offers a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in large-scale research project coordination and gaining experience in multi-method data collection.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.

The University only accepts online applications for the above post. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date CV. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until August 31, 2025, or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
