Technical Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 532780)

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Bioinformatician to join our research team focusing on kidney research and inflammatory and fibrotic disease mechanisms.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive analysis of RNA-Seq and single-cell RNA-Seq data
  • Process, analyze and interpret metagenomics datasets
  • Develop pipelines and scripts for sequencing data preprocessing, quality control, alignment, and downstream analysis
  • Assist in preparing data visualization for publication

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Master’s degree or above in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field with at least 2 year's post-qualification experience
  • Demonstrated experience with RNA-Seq and single-cell RNA-Seq analysis
  • Proficiency in programming language R and Python, and experience with bioinformatics tools
  • Experience in developing bioinformatics pipeline and maintaining computer server
  • Track record of publications in bioinformatics analysis
  • Good communication skills, self-motivated, ability to multi-task, attention to detail, organized and be able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in bioinformatics and Computational Biology with strong interest in translational research

 

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on temporary full-time contract for 1 year, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
