Personal Assistant (at the rank of Secretary I) in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (Ref.: 532819) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above with at least five years’ work experience in university/corporate administration with knowledge of financial management. They should have an excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); IT proficiency, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient manner is also essential. They should be mature, meticulous, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and attentive to details even under pressure.

The appointee will be responsible for a wide spectrum of administrative work. He/She will assist a Chair Professor and his research group in various duties, such as managing the Chair Professor’s dynamic calendar, organizing events and meetings with sensible prioritization, handling reimbursement and e-procurement matters, financial report matters, arranging schedules for the visitors etc. He/She will also be responsible for drafting formal correspondence, including editing and revising nominations and recommendation letters, and perform any other duties as assigned. Working outside normal office hours may be occasionally required.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Secretary II. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
