Executive Officer in the HKU Kadoorie Centre (Ref.: 532901)

Applications are invited for appointment as Executive Officer in the HKU Kadoorie Centre (Ref.: 532901), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

The HKU Kadoorie Centre

Founded in the mid-1980s through the visionary philanthropy of Sir Horace Kadoorie and Lord Lawrence Kadoorie, the HKU Kadoorie Centre is situated near Shek Kong in Hong Kong’s New Territories. The Centre takes a cross-disciplinary approach to address urgent challenges in agriculture, energy systems, water resources, nature conservation, and more. By integrating scientific knowledge at both regional and global levels, the Centre drives technological innovation for sustainability. In addition to supporting scholars and students from the University, the Centre places a strong emphasis on collaborative innovation with local and international academic communities, advancing interdisciplinary solutions to complex global challenges.

The Role

The appointee will support the marketing and further program development of the Centre, enhancing its role as the accommodation facility for scholars, students, and community stakeholders engaged in research, education, and outreach activities.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above;
  • 5 years’ work experience preferably in tertiary institutions;
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua;
  • IT proficiency skills including MS Word and MS Excel;
  • Good team player;
  • Self-motivation with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to details; and
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines and to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an online written test and an interview.  

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
