Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant l/ll in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 532939), to commence as soon as possible, on a up to 1.5-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

 

The Sau Po Centre on Ageing at HKU is dedicated to advancing research in the field of ageing and caregiving. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for older adults through innovative research and community engagement.

 

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, or related disciplinary studies, preferably with at least 1-year relevant work experience or further studies in healthcare, technology, gerontology. Relevant work experience in big data analysis, managing large databases of multiple research projects relating to family caregivers of older adults and/or geron-technology, and with related track records of academic publication should be advantageous.  They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese (fluency in Cantonese is required) and English, advanced knowledge and experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) and MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), and strong team work and communication skills. 

 

The applicants should be self-motivated, able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team with collaboration with local and international experts to conduct high-impact and cutting-edge research related to family caregivers of older adults and/or geron-technology, and will be responsible for engaging in managing and executing projects, engaging with the community and stakeholders including project partners and collaborators to translate research into practice, and performing other duties as assigned.
