Assistant Director of Estates (Lands) in the Estates Office

We are looking for an Assistant Director of Estates (Lands) to join the Estates Office.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Estates, the Assistant Director of Estates (Lands) will be responsible for managing land-related matters, liaising with government authorities, supporting the University's strategic land use or acquisition of properties in alignment with development objectives, and maximizing the value and potential of land assets.

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of land management for ongoing and future development projects;
  • Act as the primary liaison with government agencies, land authorities, developers, and relevant stakeholders on land matters;
  • Oversee land lease administration, including applications for new leases, renewals, lease modification, land exchange and disposals matters;
  • Ensure full compliance with land lease conditions, policies, and statutory requirements;
  • Advise senior management on land use planning, land lease negotiations, and strategic land management initiatives to promote the optimal development and utilization of land resources; and
  • Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations related to land issues, projects, and development strategies.

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants should possess:

  • A University’s degree in Surveying, Building, Estates, or related disciplines with at least 10 years’ relevant post qualification experience;
  • Membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) or other relevant professional organizations;
  • Experience in asset management, property valuation, leasing, Build-Operate-Transfer projects, and various forms of partnership redevelopment initiatives;
  • Leadership abilities, with strong multitasking, analytical, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Critical problem-solving capabilities; and
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

 

 

 

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
