Manager / Assistant Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/ Executive Officer) in the School of Computing and Data Science (several posts) (Ref: 532999) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
As the School of Computing and Data Science continues to grow, we are looking to expand the administrative team to support various school-level initiatives. Multiple positions are available in the areas of 1) outreach and public relations, and 2) programme and committee support.
For roles in Outreach and Public Relations:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's or Master’s degree and at least 8 years of work experience, preferably in digital marketing, public relations and event management. A proven track record in planning and executing large-scale events, including academic conferences, public engagement activities, and promotional campaigns, is required. Hands-on experience in driving social media engagement both locally and in Mainland China is essential. Applicants who can demonstrate success in delivering high-impact marketing or outreach campaigns in Mainland China will be considered a definite advantage.
An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is required. Proficiency in computer skills, graphic design, and prior experience in undergraduate admissions and event management experience is desirable. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently with initiative, strategical thinking, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
The appointee is expected to lead a team and be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive public relations and promotional strategies to support the goals and objectives of the School. Those with less experience may be appointed as Assistant Manager.
As part of the School’s expanding presence, occasional work travel outside of Hong Kong may be required, including to the School’s Shanghai site, which fosters cross-border collaboration and innovation.
For roles in Programme and Committee Support
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree and at least 8 years of work experience. They should demonstrate exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and self-motivation. An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is required. Proficiency in project management and organizational skills is preferred.
The appointees will assist in the administration of academic degree programmes, student admissions, academic committee matters, provide logistical support for student and School events, and perform other duties as required. Applicants with less experience may be appointed as Assistant Manager.
