Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.: 533089) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry or a related discipline; preferably with experience in laboratory management and knowledge of animal studies.  They should have good communication and collaboration skills; be able to work independently and meet tight schedules; pay attention to efficiency.  Those with lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer.

The appointee will coordinate an eight-year inter-institutional project on “metabolic medicine” supported by RGC “Areas of Excellence Scheme”, manage research platforms in the State Key Laboratory, and perform other duties as assigned.  5.5 working days per week is required.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
