Technical Manager in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref: 533124) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nuclear Medicine or related disciplines, with at least 5 year’s relevant work experience in radiopharmaceutical laboratory or production facilities.  They should also have good organizational and interpersonal skills with analytical thinking, and be proactive, responsible, and able to work independently and under pressure.  Preference will be given to those with experience in using HPLC, GC and other quality control equipment; and possession of a valid driving license (Class I).  Knowledge of GMP standards, clean room operation, programming used in synthesizer’s system and handling of radioactive or bio-hazard materials would definitely be advantageous. 

The appointees will work primarily for the production and quality control of radiopharmaceutical according to the standard operating procedures (SOP); help to update the SOPs and coordinate the routine maintenance of analytical instruments; assist in the procurement process for consumables; conduct and lead R&D projects; and liaise with the Radiation Board of Hong Kong for routine production and conveyance reports.  Adequate training in radiation safety will be provided before handling of radioactive materials.
