IT Officer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Ref: 533155) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Key Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess a university degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in GPU server maintenance, preferably in a field related to higher education or professional engineering service and prior experience in cloud server setup and maintenance.

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Knowledge in web-based development e.g JAVA, EJB, XML, XSL, Servlets, JMS, HTML, JQuery, JavaScript, and SQL, etc. Solid experience in web programming, website upgrade and maintenance; 
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently under pressure; self-motivated, attentive to details, and a good team player.

Key Responsibilities

He/She will provide a high level of administrative support to one or more functions of the Department, including:

  • Assisting in developing and implementation of IT strategies aligned with Department development goals;
  • Designing and documenting scalable, secure, and efficient architectures for data, applications, and technology systems;
  • Developing processes for seamless integration and interoperability of systems, ensuring consistency and reliability;
  • Establishing and enforcing technical standards and best practices, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective use of tools;
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to design and implement enterprise architecture solutions;
  • Performing duties as assigned by the Head of the Department or his/her delegate.
