Technical Officer in the Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 533177) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of the basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Nursing, or healthcare-related disciplines, with at least 1 year’s experience in clinical research.  They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; proficiency in computer applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint); and strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.  They should also be responsible, logical, detail-oriented and self-motivated.  Those with knowledge in statistics and statistical software (e.g. SPSS) are preferred. 

The appointee will support ophthalmic investigations for clinical studies and eye research projects involving extensive interaction with patients.  Responsibilities include assisting with fieldwork in clinical settings such as patient recruitment, questionnaires and data collection; managing grants and ethics applications; preparing publications, reports and presentations; providing data analytics support; and performing other duties as assigned.  

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
