Administrative Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 533188), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

The Faculty of Business and Economics is seeking a high-calibre professional to support strategic and administrative support to the Dean of our prestigious and forward-looking Faculty.  This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a visionary leader and contribute meaningfully to the Faculty’s continued success.  The appointee will play a key role in executing the Dean’s priorities, with a focus on high-level responsibilities that drive impact and excellence.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Strategic Support: prepare high-quality proposals, reports, and presentations following meetings with the Management Team;
  • Meeting Coordination: organize and support key meetings, including agenda development, material preparation, and follow-up on action items;
  • Project Management: lead and manage special projects on behalf of the Dean, ensuring timely and effective execution;
  • Communication Liaison: act as a point of contact between the Dean and internal/external stakeholders, upholding professionalism and strict confidentiality;
  • Research and Analysis: conduct thorough research and analysis on strategic initiatives, industry trends, and academic developments to support informed decision-making; and
  • Time Management: optimize the Dean’s schedule by prioritizing high-impact activities and ensuring efficient use of time.

Requirements:

  • A good bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, management or a related field;
  • At least 10 years of work experience in a public/quasi-public organization or a related sector.  Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Administrative Assistant II;
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances; and
  • Highly motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and well-organized, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview. 

Compensation and Benefits:

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AAI and 10% of basic salary for AAII.
