Manager (Data and AI Specialist), Masters Programmes (at the rank of Executive Officer) (two posts) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 533215) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
 
Qualifications and Qualities:
 
• a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with excellent quantitative skills;
• approximately 5 years of relevant work experience in data analysis, data management, AI solution development, or similar role;
• proficiency in analytics tools such as Python and SQL is required;
• familiarity with R, SAS, or Tableau/Power BI, Spark, Hive, or Hadoop would be an advantage;
• hands-on experience in building, deploying, and optimizing LLM Agent frameworks, as well as proficiency in prompt engineering techniques and RAG systems;
• basic knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus;
• prior experience in the higher education sector would be advantageous; and
• good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
 
Key Responsibilities including but not limited to:
 
• analysing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and generate actionable insights;
• leveraging AI tools and machine learning techniques to enhance data analytics capabilities and automate operational workflows for increased efficiency;
• providing research support to the Faculty’s Masters Programmes Office in the areas related to admissions, students’ performance, and career-related services;
• developing and implementing data analytics strategies to inform and improve the decision-making processes of the Faculty’s Masters programmes;
• maintaining data pipelines, ensure data quality, and optimize database performance for reliable and efficient data access; and
• carrying out ad-hoc tasks assigned by supervisors or management.
 
The appointees will work at the Faculty’s Cyberport campus. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
