Assistant Technical Manager in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health (Ref.: 533347) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
The applicants should possess a Bachelor or Postgraduate degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, Biomedical Sciences, Public Health, Biotechnology, or relevant disciplines. He/She should be proficient in laboratory techniques related bacterial culture, tests for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), molecular tests including genomic sequencing, preferably with at least 2 years’ relevant laboratory and AMR work experience. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
The appointee will be responsible for supporting research activities in the School primarily on antimicrobial resistance, involving bacterial culture, tests for antibiotic susceptibility, sample preparation for genetic/genomic sequencing, and other research related tasks. He/She will also participate in SOP preparation and implementation, train and supervise junior research staff and postgraduate students, and assist in laboratory activities. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
