Applications are invited for the position of Executive Officer in the Social Sciences Research Center (SSRC), Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 533387), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to the satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in a Social Sciences disciplines, preferably with work experience in a higher education institution. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in both Cantonese and Putonghua would be an advantage), excellent time management and problem-solving skills, a high level of IT proficiency, and quantitative data management skills. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. They should be mature, meticulous, and discreet in handling matters. Applicants should also demonstrate the capacity for independent action, the ability to perform diversified duties and multi-task, and the ability to work well under pressure with people from diverse backgrounds. Applications with relevant survey research experience will be given priority.
The appointee will lead the supporting team in providing a full spectrum of administrative support to the senior management team of the Centre in various areas, including project management, training and event organization, general office administration, human resources, finance administration, secretarial support, liaison with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with HKU or funders' policies and procedural requirements, and performing any other duties as assigned by the Director.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of the basic salary.
