Director of Beijing Centre (at the rank of Assistant Registrar) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 533394), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. The appointee will be seconded and assigned to work in the Faculty’s Beijing Centre.
Applicants should possess a good bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years’ relevant administrative and management experience within a business school setting in Mainland China, including at least 10 years’ work experience at a supervisory role. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good organisational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; IT proficiency; and the ability to multitask as well as work well both in a team and independently with a high level of initiative.
The appointee, reporting to the Dean of Faculty of Business and Economics and/or his delegates, will oversee and perform the role of the administrative head of the HKU Beijing Centre. Key responsibilities include but not limited to the followings:
- performing marketing and student recruitment in Mainland China for the Faculty’s self-funded programmes; work with the Faculty’s Executive Education Team to explore and expand clientele market in Mainland China;
- liaising with relevant colleagues of the Faculty on marketing and admission matters
- rendering assistance to the Faculty, where appropriate, on alumni matters in Mainland China, including but not limited to organisation and coordination of alumni events;
- reporting to the Faculty’s designated persons of various teams on the work progress on a regular basis; and
- performing any other duties as reasonably required and directed by the Faculty.
He/She may frequently be required to work outside normal office hours/during weekends and travel. The main work location for this post is Beijing.
