Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.:533507), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our research team. Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related discipline in health and social sciences. Strong written and spoken English skills are essential. Applicants should demonstrate a high level of responsibility, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with ethnically diverse communities in Hong Kong is a plus. We welcome applications from both linguistically diverse and Cantonese-proficient candidates. Familiarity with compassion science and topics such as stigma and health, trauma and resilience, mindfulness, and cultural humility is advantageous. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies.

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in overseeing various research projects, such as those focusing on the mental health needs of ethnically diverse and sexual/gender expansive communities, as well as the cultural adaptation of compassion-based treatment approaches. In addition to conducting literature reviews, the appointee will be responsible for providing administrative and logistical support for data collection, managing and analyzing data, preparing presentations and reports, and carrying out other duties as assigned. The appointee will have opportunities to engage with community stakeholders, collaborate with local and international scholars, and present at regional/international conferences.
