Senior Technical Officer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 533511) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have a Master’s degree or equivalent in Molecular Biology or related disciplines, with at least 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology and medical genetics. Experience in setting up PCR and DNA Sanger sequencing reaction is required. They should be reliable, honest, committed, self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility, and be able to work independently as well as in a team. Registration with the Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Board; prior experience in molecular genetics, whole genome, exome sequencing and bioinformatics; and knowledge of result processing and data analysis would be advantageous.
The appointee will perform laboratory work and analyses in molecular genetics, and assist in the research and development of new molecular techniques in a prenatal diagnostic laboratory.
