Assistant Registrar/Administrative Assistant I (several posts) in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 533517), to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

 

Application should possess a good first Bachelor’s degree, with relevant academic and professional training related to the areas of duties and/or recognized professional qualifications, plus at least 8 to 10 year’s professional experience in a public/quasi-public organization or a related sector, preferably with a higher degree.  They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, be mature and meticulous, self-motivated, and a good team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to work on their own initiative.  Commitment to quality and results, excellent time management and problem-solving skills, professional work attitude and a high level of computer literacy are essential qualities for the post. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Administrative Assistant I.

 

The appointee will work to support a large team focused on population mental health projects and mental wellbeing in Hong Kong. He/She will play a central role in managing financial operations, and coordinating human resources activities, ensuring timely reporting, streamlining procedures, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. The role also involves managing procurement, budgeting, and financial reporting, handling grants and donations and collaborating with internal and external teams to support project execution. In addition to project and financial oversight, the appointee is responsible for HR administration, including recruitment, onboarding, promotions, and visa processing. The role requires mentoring junior staff, resolving operational challenges, and maintaining efficient office logistics. The position demands adaptability, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to support the team’s mission and ensure smooth administrative operations.
