Applications are invited for appointment as Part-time Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sociology (Ref.: 533885) to commence as soon as possible, on January 1, 2026, for 5 months, with possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree or a Master Degree in Sociology or Criminology, with at least one year’s experience in teaching support in tertiary education settings. They should have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, as well as an excellent command of written and spoken English. Preferences will be given to those with relevant experience in teaching degree programmes and a background in criminology.
The appointee will work primarily on our Criminology courses. He/She will assist course instructors in course preparation and administration; conduct tutorials and lead in-class discussions; support field trips and other academic activities; grade assignments and tests; invigilate examinations; provide consultative support to students outside class; manage the web-based course Moodle; and perform any other duties as assigned.
