Executive Assistant (at the rank of Clerk II) (2 posts) in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 533904) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience in tertiary institutions. Non-degree holders with substantial relevant work experience will also be considered. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); a strong sense of responsibility; and the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently. They should also be attentive to details and self-motivated. Proficiency in PC and application software (including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) would be essential.
The appointees will provide secretarial and administrative support to the professoriate staff members of the Department. Their duties include managing budgets for research projects, handling financial and accounting matters, coordinating the recruitment of research staff and research postgraduate students, and arranging meetings/seminars/symposia and travel logistics. They may also be required to assist in general office administration, undertake specific or general clerical tasks and perform other duties as assigned.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
