Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Engineering (Ref.: 533940), (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability).
The Faculty of Engineering is introducing new hands-on, project-based learning experiences into its curriculum to foster deeper engagement among undergraduate students.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with experiences in engineering-related fields. Good programming skills (e.g., in python and C++/Java) and proficiency in major AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch), good written and spoken English, along with good communication skills, are essential. Preference will be given to those with relevant experience in teaching support, developing AI techniques for industrial applications, or mentoring student projects.
The appointee will work as part of an innovative teaching team responsible for introducing new hands-on, project-based learning experiences into its curriculum to foster deeper engagement among undergraduate students in Faculty of Engineering. The main responsibilities include
- assisting faculty members with course preparation and delivery,
- supporting students’ project-based learning and assessment,
- providing constructive feedback to students,
- maintaining course-related records and databases, and
- facilitating communication between students and faculty members.
He/She will also assist in organizing hands-on workshops, seminars, and industry collaboration initiatives, as well as perform any additional duties as assigned. He/she may be required to work outside office hours. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
