Research Assistant II in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 533952) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Health Science, or a related discipline. Experience in conducting animal and bacterial work, especially prior experience in working with drug resistant S. aureus would be an advantage. They should have a good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); good communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of basic statistics; proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); and English and Chinese word processing. They should be a self-motivated and organized team player.
The appointee will be involved in conducting clinical and small molecule testing. They will also participate in research projects related to emerging infectious diseases, and perform other duties as assigned under the supervision of Professor Richard Kao.
