IT Officer/Assistant IT Officer (at the rank of IT Technician) in the Faculty of Arts (2 posts) (Ref.: 534002) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related discipline, with 3 years’ relevant work experience. They should have good knowledge and work experience in some of the following areas would be an advantage:
- Experience in server administration (Linux, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Ability to set up and maintain Windows-based workstations
- Experience managing computing facilities and AV systems
- Experience in utilizing AI tools for office automation, such as streamlining administrative workflows, automating repetitive tasks, and enhancing productivity through intelligent solutions
They should also possess good interpersonal skills, and high proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese. They should also be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and be able to work independently to meet tight deadlines. Those with less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant IT Officer (at the rank of IT Technician).
The appointees will be responsible for providing IT solutions and support to the Faculty’s student management and curriculum development initiatives. This includes supporting and enhancing various web-based applications and materials, automating administrative operations, and designing and administering online surveys. They will also oversee the setup, administration, and repair of the Faculty’s computing and AV facilities, maintain the Faculty’s website, and provide technical support to staff members. Additionally, the appointees will contribute to strategic projects of the Faculty and perform any other duties as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
