IT Technician in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 534006) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should process a bachelor’s degree or above in Computer or IT-related disciplines, with good command of both spoken English and Chinese,  and at least 3 years’ experience in network infrastructure, security infrastructure or server infrastructure. They should have practical experience with one of the below:

  1. Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server, Linux Server and Hypervisor, monitor system performance, apply patches and updates, Manage storage solutions and provisioning, health checks, capacity planning.
  2. Configure and support enterprise grade routers, switches, firewalls, resolve connectivity issues for remote sites and VPN users, monitor security alerts from the XDR platform and respond to incidents, enforce patch management, vulnerability scanning, implement & maintain endpoint protection and access control policies.

Experience in supporting CI/CD pipeline and docker would be a definite advantage.

The appointee will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing all IT operations in data centres, working closely on both infrastructure and application projects with both internal and external parties. Other responsibilities include handling incidents, adopting new technologies to enhance the infrastructure and maintaining the current production environment guidelines and security polices and guidelines. Working independently and outside office hours are required.
