Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care (Ref.: 534081) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

 

Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Social Science, Psychology, or a related discipline. They should also have a good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese), and good analytical, administrative and organizational skills.  Previous work experience involving health assessment, health promotion, program coordination and contacts with patients/clients would be advantageous. The appointee will work on a primary care research project amongst the South Asian populations in Hong Kong.  S/he will work with a registered nurse to deliver an outreach nurse-led clinic service in screening for chronic diseases such as diabetes, hyperlipidaemia and hypertension amongst the South Asian populations in Hong Kong together with Non-Government Organizations, connecting the participants to appropriate healthcare services, working with other healthcare professionals to deliver various therapeutic lifestyle modification activities, conducting social prescribing, helping with data collection and management.  Irregular working hours may be needed occasionally.  Enquiries about the duties of the post should be directed to Dr. Emily Tse at emilyht@hku.hk.
