Senior Technical Officer in Electron Microscope Unit (Central Fabrication Laboratory) (Ref.: 534088) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related disciplines, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in industry or academia. Familiarity with CAD tools like AutoCAD will be considered an advantage.

Candidates should possess strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Chinese (including Mandarin) . They must demonstrate strong motivation, a high sense of responsibility, and the ability to work both independently and effectively within a team. Prior experience working in a cleanroom environment is preferred. Candidates are required to work in a cleanroom while wearing cleanroom clothing.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Maintaining strict adherence to cleanroom protocols within Class 100 and 1000 environments, ensuring contamination control and operational safety
  2. Ensuring adherence to safety standards, including proper handling of HF, TMAH, lasers, and other chemicals
  3. Conducting nanofabrication tasks, such as CMOS and MEMS, including hands-on operation in photolithography, etching, deposition, and characterization etc.
  4. Troubleshooting and perform routine maintenance on equipment and systems, including SEM, AFM, ICP, PVD, vacuum systems etc.
  5. Providing training to laboratory users on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices
  6. Performing additional duties as assigned including the laboratory management procedures

The working schedule will follow a shift work system and may not be limited to standard daily office hours.
