Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534251), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in a discipline related to endocrinology or biomedical sciences, with substantial research experience in metabolic diseases.  They should have a proven track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants.  They should also have excellent project management and organizational skills, together with outstanding written and presentation skills.

The appointee is expected to conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research and attract competitive grants to maintain active research programmes.  He/She will take part in teaching postgraduate programmes, and supervise research postgraduate students.  He/She is also expected to perform some administrative duties if necessary.  Information about the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and the Department of Medicine can be obtained at https://www.sklpb.hku.hk and https://medic.hku.hk/.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salary tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
