Part-time Hourly-paid Business Analyst (at the rank of IT Officer) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 534378)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC), established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed), is a leading organization dedicated to managing and supporting international-standard clinical trials for new drugs, medical devices, and medical technologies. HKU-CTC provides long-term career development for motivated professionals committed to advancing clinical research. We are seeking a high-calibre candidate to join our IT Team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the process of gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for new projects and initiatives;
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and solution providers, presenting findings and complex logic in a clear, constructive manner to ensure solutions meet organizational objectives;
  • Design effective solutions based on business needs and translate requirements into clear functional specifications;
  • Oversee project timelines from initial planning through design, development, testing, and deployment;
  • Work closely with external partners to ensure the delivery of reliable and high-performing software solutions; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in business requirements analysis, process documentation, and reporting;
  • Demonstrated ability to write requirement specifications, process workflows, and user stories;
  • Strong analytical mindset, coordination, and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a concise way;
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new domains and technologies relevant to clinical research;
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Cantonese (proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage);
  • Familiarity with software development processes and project lifecycles is beneficial; and
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries is a plus.

The appointment will be made on a 6-month contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
