HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute, a strategic collaboration between The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), aspires to establish as a world-class hub for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) best practices for Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our expanding portfolio of marketing initiatives and high-profile events. This role is central to executing impactful events and enhancing our digital presence. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional with a passion for marketing and event management, looking to build a long-term career in a dynamic academic research environment.
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field. They should possess 2 to3 years of proven experience in full-cycle event planning and management, hands-on experience and a good understanding of LinkedIn, WeChat, and Red Note, exceptional organizational, multitasking, and project management skills with a keen eye for detail and a genuine interest in pursuing a career path specializing in marketing and event management.
The appointee will have the primary job responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
Event Management & Coordination:
• Plan, coordinate, and execute end-to-end logistics for seminars, conferences, and outreach events (scale of 300+ attendees); create the manpower plan for the event.
• Develop and manage event budgets, track expenditures, and process invoices.
• Serve as the primary liaison, coordinating with internal partners (university administrators, venue managers) and external vendors (catering, AV, design agencies).
Marketing & Digital Communications Support:
• Manage the Institute's social media presence across key platforms: LinkedIn, WeChat (微信公众号), and Red Note (小红书).
• Collaborate with internal teams and/or external agencies to develop a content calendar, and schedule posts.
• Maintain an up-to-date media contact list.
• Work with the designers in creating promotional materials and post-event reports.
General Administration:
• Provide high-level administrative support, including scheduling, document preparation, and data management.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support the team's objectives.
The successful candidate will be required to work outside standard normal office hours as required by event schedule. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.
