Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Technology Transfer Office (Ref.: 534419) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Job Duties:
The appointee will support the Senior Manager and Manager of the Office in implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance awareness and exposure of HKU's excellence in Knowledge Exchange in the areas of RISE - Research, Innovation, Strategic Partnerships, and Entrepreneurship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating engaging content and connecting with stakeholders through various channels, including websites, social media, public relations, newsletters, and other marketing collaterals.
- Handling press materials write-up, media pitching and interviews coordination.
- Supporting the development of compelling videos, visuals, PowerPoint presentations, and publications.
- Providing logistical support for events and managing the production of relevant materials.
- Maintaining effective communication and collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure successful strategy execution.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Occasional Travel to overseas countries and Chinese Mainland may be required.
Qualifications and Qualities:
- A good Bachelor’s degree, with at least 5 years of experience in corporate marketing, branding, and social media, preferably in the tertiary education sector.
- Strong marketing acumen to effectively translate complex research impacts to stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken Chinese, English and Mandarin.
- Experience in copywriting for press releases, particularly in technology sectors or academic institutions.
- Creativity in developing social media strategies across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Familiarity with tools such as PowerPoint and visual/video editing software (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, Gemini) is an advantage.
