Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Smart Social Work in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 534725), to commence on December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

We invite applications for a tenure track appointment at Assistant Professor level in the broad area of AI and Social Work / Human Services Innovation. We seek candidates whose scholarship advances how AI and digital technologies can responsibly enhance social work practice, service systems, and social policy—particularly in Asian and global contexts.
Required Qualifications
• A PhD (or equivalent) in Social Work.
• Professional training in Social Work, clinical psychology, educational psychology.
• Evidence of (or strong potential for) high quality publications and a clear research trajectory relevant to AI/Tech and social work/human services.
• Ability to teach effectively in English (Cantonese/Mandarin capability is an asset but not required).
A highly competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
