Research Officer (AI and Industry Collaboration) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 534758), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary term or a two-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The appointee will play a pivotal role in supporting AI-related research activities and will serve as the key liaison between the research team and partner firms. Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing research projects conducted in collaboration with industry partners;
- Identifying an serving as the primary point of contact between academic researchers and industry collaborators;
- Collecting data and relevant case materials resulting from these partnerships;
- Creating and preparing materials related to AI courses and knowledge transfer.
Requirements:
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in a relevant discipline, such as Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. They should demonstrate a strong combination of business acumen and technical expertise in AI and machine learning. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in industry-academic collaboration or project management will be highly regarded.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of the basic salary.
