IT Officer/IT Technician in the Estates Systems Team in the Information Technology Services (Ref.: 534771)
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. We are seeking a highly capable and motivated IT professional to join our Estates Systems Team, providing quality technical support to the Estates Office.
The Role
- Engage with end-users to understand business requirements, coordinate project schedules, and manage expectations
- Collaborate with vendors to implement and support IT solutions
- Follow change management protocols to develop, test (including User Acceptance Testing), and deploy IT solutions throughout the software development lifecycle
- Conduct application vulnerability scans and stress testing to ensure system security and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively
- Explore and implement AI initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
Qualifications and Qualities
- Bachelor's degree or above in Information Technology or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in the IT industry
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese
- Strong communication, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player
Preferred Skills and Experience
Candidates with any of the following will have an advantage:
- Proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as Java, PHP, PL/SQL, DB2, ReactJS, Vue.js, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and AI workflow tools (e.g. n8n)
- Hands-on experience managing the IBM TRIRIGA platform
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and asset management practices
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PRINCE2, or project management experience
Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as IT Technician.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
