The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Teaching Assistant with a strong interest in environmental sustainability, particularly in areas such as biodiversity, low-carbon transition, and waste reduction, as well as a keen interest in the practices of social enterprises and NGOs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on independent research, data-driven analysis, and the translation of complex environmental issues into clear, impactful reports.
The successful candidate will provide support for research and training initiatives focused on ESG and the non-profit sector. Key responsibilities include conducting independent research, developing analytical reports in both English and Chinese, and supporting the administrative maintenance of our flagship ESG online course. Candidates with a background in consulting and 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible for the following core areas:
• assist the Programme Manager in the curation, coordination, and logistical execution of research projects, workshops, and training events, including but not limited to preparing summaries and presentation materials, and assisting with workshop coordination and communications;
• collaborate with Research Officers and Faculty to research, write, and develop compelling ESG case studies focused on NGO and corporate sustainability practices, drawing on interviews, fieldwork, and secondary research;
• conduct independent research and draft analytical reports on environmental ESG topics, including biodiversity, low-carbon transition, and waste reduction, with the ability to synthesize findings into well-structured, evidence-based content in both English and Chinese; and
• manage the administrative maintenance of the institute’s online course, with a primary focus on the end-to-end learner registration process, handling inquiries, and coordinating platform logistics.
Qualifications & Requirements Essential:
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Science, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Sustainability Studies, Communications, or Education;
• 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience in research, project coordination, or consulting, preferably with exposure to ESG or sustainability topics;
• demonstrated interest in environmental issues such as biodiversity, climate change, low-carbon transition, or waste management, as well as the non-profit sector and philanthropy;
• strong analytical skills with experience in conducting independent research and preparing reports, supported by basic data analysis capabilities;
• excellent command of written English and Chinese, with a proven ability to produce clear, structured, persuasive, and grammatically flawless content (writing samples may be requested);
• outstanding organizational skills, a proactive and self-motivated work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently with high accuracy;
• strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with diverse stakeholders;
• high proficiency in standard office software (MS Office Suite); and
• The candidate must possess legal right to work and reside in Hong Kong.
