IT Officer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref: 535000) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a recognised degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering or Information Technology (IT), with a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. They should have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Working knowledge in MS Apps (e.g. Office, Teams, SharePoint, Power Automate), NAS, WordPress, Zoom, Panopto, door access systems, CCTV systems and web-based application development (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and PHP) will be favourably considered. Applicants should be self-motivated, demonstrate learning ability, process a sense of responsibility, and have good communication skills.
The appointee will be responsible for the physical setup of computers and basic hardware installation; providing IT support to students and staff members; setting up IoT devices; maintaining hardware (e.g., PCs, Notebooks, NAS, and AV items) and software inventories; liaising with vendors regarding IT systems and setups; and performing other duties as assigned. He/She will also assist in developing and maintaining in-house applications and websites, and in designing workflows to streamline the department's daily operations. On-the-job training will be provided. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a written test and an interview.
