Applications are invited for appointment as Nursing Manager (at the rank of Senior Technical Manager) in the HKU Health System of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 536228) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

HKU Health System (HKUHS) is the umbrella executive arm overseeing and supporting the Faculty’s clinical services network that includes clinics and specialist centres managed by HKUMed, as well as partnerships with our six affiliate public and private teaching hospitals in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager with demonstrated leadership in quality, safety and risk management to join our HKUHS team.

Applicants should possess a nursing qualification registrable with the local Nursing Council or an equivalent international regulator and a valid practising certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. They should have at least 15 years of post-registration clinical experience. Occasional travelling outside Hong Kong and performance of duties outside normal office hours may be required. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in our Quality, Safety and Risk Oversight Programmes to ensure safe, quality clinical care and good clinical outcomes for all HKUHS Clinical Service Units
2. Serve on our partnering hospitals’ Quality, Safety and Risk Committees
3. Oversee relevant incident reports and complaints related to clinical matters to assure robust clinical risk management and continuous improvement
4. Lead specialist clinic services, and support initiatives focused on establishing new clinics, improving patient care outcomes and operational efficiency, in the HKUHS Clinical Centre
5. Provide consultancy services to support the development, delivery and quality assurance of clinical services across our network and in support of designated HKUHS innovation and development initiatives

Key Result Areas:

1. Oversight of good clinical governance in our partnering hospitals and Clinical Service Units
2. Efficient and effective operations of our HKUHS Clinical Centre
3. HKUHS Clinical Centre Services and support of innovation and development initiatives
4. Consultancy services across our network in areas such as quality, safety and clinical risk management

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.
